Does your church or nonprofit serve meals or groceries to those in need? We can help you!

We work with over 250 soup kitchens, church pantries, and children’s programs across 12 counties in Central Alabama, supplying them with various types of foods including meats, canned goods, fruits, vegetables, breads, rice, etc. There is no charge for the food; however, we do request what is called a “cost sharing” fee to assist with freight, storage and sourcing expenses. The fee varies depending upon the item but is no more than sixteen cents per pound. There are also many times when there are items like fresh produce, eggs, nuts, or other items are available without any fee at all.

Agencies or feeding programs qualify as our “partner agencies” and can take advantage of these services if they meet the following guidelines: (1) are a church or 501(c) 3 non-profit, (2) agree to meet certain food safety protocols and (3) plan to give the food free of charge to the needy, ill or children.

If your organization decides to join our network of partner agencies, Please download and fill out the application and return it with the supporting documents requested therein. After receiving your application, we will schedule a time to visit with you to talk about your program and see your facility. The final step of the process is to have your “authorized representatives” come to the Community Food Bank for an orientation where we will walk you through how to use our online ordering system, go over member requirements, and complete a food safety training. Orientations are scheduled as needed and may be facilitated via Zoom.
